Why should becoming a mother mean fading into the background? The minute you have a baby, a partner, or a family, it often feels like life stops being about you. Shelita White begs to differ.
Born in Houston, Texas, and now living in Washington, DC, with her husband and three children (all under 7), Shelita is the founder of Just Rock Enterprises, a music and arts company dedicated to fostering creativity and confidence in aspiring indie artists of all ages.
Just six years ago, Just Rock began as a one-woman venture. Today, it’s a thriving company with over two dozen instructors, all spreading the message that independent artistry is within reach for everyone, no matter their age.
But here’s the real story: while Shelita was building her business, she was also building her family. In the midst of marriage and raising three children (born just 22 months apart!), she took Just Rock from startup to success. Some may have called her journey bold, risky, or even crazy. Shelita calls it passion.
Now, through her BYOB Wine and Cupcakes workshops, podcast, and events, she shares her story and inspires a growing community of women entrepreneurs—helping them embrace their own journeys with confidence. Shelita offers practical advice and business tips, all while running Just Rock full-time.
Though still a work in progress, Shelita's mission is clear: to empower others to find their path as artists and entrepreneurs through her teaching, workshops, and events. Featured on ABC News for her business pivot during the pandemic, Shelita also holds CBE certification and continues to lead her company with the same tenacity that sparked its growth.
Join Shelita and BYOB Wine and Cupcakes Consult, where creativity, business, and motherhood don’t compete—they thrive together.
